Gromore, Washington was also the terminus of one of the Yakima Valley Transportation Company's branches and a major source of traffic. Its current status is evident from the vegetation hiding the rails. Owner Union Pacific finally filed for abandonment of the YVT in 1984, but later donated the railroad to the City of Yakima for operation by a heritage non-profit organization.
