Another unexpected find in the Wellsville, Addison & Galeton's Galeton, Pennsylvania main yard was this 4-wheel wooden caboose, bereft of paint but otherwise in seemingly pristine condition.
Just a few weeks before this slide was taken, disaster struck the WA&G's Galeton car shops, originally built in 1894, when an unexplained fire destroyed several cars, spare parts and an F7 diesel engine undergoing rebuilding, in addition to the building itself. A prefabricated building was quickly erected, which may be the building visible behind the caboose.
