A Union Pacific inspection vehicle is seen here at Marshall, Washington on the former Spokane, Portland & Seattle (by now Burlington Northern Santa Fe) line. The paved trail at left used to be the shared Union Pacific/Milwaukee Road line through Marshall, but was abandoned at the same time that construction of Spokane's High Bridge over Latah Creek resulted in a major rearrangement of trackage use patterns.
