Between Cima and Kelso, California Union Pacific's Los Angeles & Salt Lake line is a succession of sidings and washes, such as that seen here. Like many other sidings on the Los Angeles & Salt Lake line Union Pacific here used an entry signal composed of two widely spaced searchlight targets, something also common on the Erie Railroad but rare elsewhere. This view looks downhill towards Kelso.
