Ajo, Arizona marked the south end of passenger service on the Tucson, Cornelia & Gila Bend; the station can be seen in the distance past the yard trackage. The New Cornelia Mine was located south of the town of Ajo, with more than a thousand employees working in the open pit mine at times.
