Although most railfans think of the Strasburg Rail Road as a tourist line, it's actually one of the oldest common carriers in Pennsylvania, chartered in 1832, and the oldest to operate uninterruptedly. It also houses one of the premier railroad museums in the United States. At Leamon Place it interchanged with the Pennsylvania Railroad's electrified Philadelphia-Harrisburg line, seen here from the rear of Amtrak's eastbound National Limited. The overpass in the distance is U.S. Route 30.
