Pennsylvania [Penn Central]
Dolton, Illinois (Dolton Crossing)
June 6, 1973

Dolton Crossing, located in the Chicago suburb of Dolton, Illinois, featured the crossing of lines of the Chicago & Eastern Illinois, Baltimore & Ohio, Indiana Harbor Belt, and the Pennsylvania's Logansport mainline. By this time the former Pennsylvania's line was showing severe signs of neglect (like much of the Penn Central) and would eventually be abandoned under Conrail. Looking southeast from Indiana Avenue, the crossing in the foreground is the IHB, with the C&EI crossing just past the tower.
