At Ashtabula, Ohio's NP tower the New York Central's Youngstown branch and the Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh, Youngstown & Ashtabula branch crossed the Nickel Plate Road at grade. Here a southbound Penn Central freight is about to bang over what by now are Norfolk & Western rails. The Pennsylvania's tracks are behind the tower but will soon be abandoned.
