The now-gone Independence Blvd. bridge provided an excellent vantage point for watching traffic through downtown Cleveland. In the foreground Norfolk & Western switchers nos. 2059 and 2061 pass several loads of scrap steel on the former Nickel Plate. Immediately behind the locomotives is the remaining single track of the Cleveland Union Terminal railroad; the width of the catenary support testifies to the multiple track line that was once here although wires are long gone. Still active under wire is the RTA Rapid Transit. The yard trackage above is part of the Nickel Plate's BD Yard. Not visible but directly under the camera is the Baltimore & Ohio's B&O Transfer track for accessing Cleveland Union Terminal.
