Nickel Plate Road [Norfolk & Western]
Cleveland, Ohio
March 27, 1970

One of the landmarks of the Cleveland Flats along the Cuyahoga River is the long trestle (punctuated by a lift bridge) of the Nickel Plate Road. Here a way freight crosses the lift bridge. The Erie's ore line from Literary Street Yard to the River Bed Yard and ore docks is below. The bridge directly beneath the camera crosses the former Big Four freight line to the lakefront.

Needless to say, this slide is not in great shape after almost 50 years. Cheap film didn't help, but the vertical scratches more likely occurred during processing. You get what you pay forů
