Just south of Ashtabula, Ohio, the Nickel Plate Road (now Norfolk & Western) crossed the Pennsylvania's (former Pittsburgh, Youngstown & Ashtabula, now Penn Central) ore line from Youngstown and Warren and the New York Central's (former Lake Shore & Michigan Southern and now also Penn Central) branch to Youngstown, where it connected with the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie. Here an eastbound freight led by N&W no. 2806 on former Nickel Plate Rails has just crossed the Pennsylvania and in a moment will pass NP Tower and cross the New York Central. This and the following shot were taken from NP Tower courtesy of a friendly tower operator. Thanks!
