At Dolton Crossing, located in the suburb of Dolton about two dozen miles south of downtown Chicago, a westbound IHB transfer run on its way to Blue Island Yard (and led by SW no. 9217) charges across lines of the Chicago & Western Indiana, Baltimore & Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The IHB was a busy railroad; note the distant headlight waiting its turn. The track in the foreground belongs to the C&WI; just south of the crossing the C&WI ends and the Chicago & Eastern Illinois takes ownership.
