Great Northern [Burlington Northern]
Montana (Marias Pass)
June 15, 1972

It should hardly come as a surprise that the Great Northern's Marias Pass line running along the south edge of Glacier National Park sees snow. Lots of snow. These snowsheds are there for a purpose, even though the benign weather of mid-June might make them seem superflous. In the valley below the Middle Fork-Flathead River and U.S. Highway 2 are just visible.
