This freshly assembled passenger train (Amtrak's Abraham Lincoln) is actually backing through Brighton Park Crossing, on its way to Union Station to collect passengers. At this time the GM&O ran both through passenger and commuter trains out of Chicago. By this time Amtrak had taken over operation of long-distance passenger trains, but GM&O power was still found on the head end. Tracks in the foreground are (near to far) Pennsylvania (by now a bankrupt Penn Central), Baltimore & Ohio and Chicago Junction.
