Erie [Erie Lackawanna]
Warren, Ohio
August 19, 1970

No, the Erie did not use Pennsylvania Railroad-style position light signals. This unusual signal located between Warren and Leavittsburg, Ohio on the Cleveland & Mahoning Line was a "position light telephone train order signal," used to notify crews of the need to stop at a nearby railroad telephone box and "phone home" for instructions. This view is from the Liberty Road grade crossing, looking west towards Leavittsburg.
