The incline railway station at the bottom of the Royal Gorge provided an excellent train-watching spot, including the "hanging bridge" visible in the background. With those cliff walls to reflect sound a train would have been an unforgettable experience in such close confines. Unfortunately none was to pass during the limited time available. This view looks west along the Gorge.
Today (2018) with the incline railway destroyed in a 2013 wildfire and never rebuilt, there appears to be no way for Gorge visitors to the suspension bridge park to reach track level as in the past.
