Denver & Rio Grande Western [Southern Pacific]
Pueblo, Colorado (Pueblo Junction)
June 7, 1996

This junction, located on the southeast side of Pueblo, is actually in the form of a wye, with one leg located behind the small hill at center. The line at left is the Denver & Rio Grande's Tennessee Pass line fresh from its Pueblo yard and engine terminal, and as it veers north at left becomes the Rio Grande's share of the Joint Line when it joins the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe at Bragdon further north. The line at the right belongs to the Santa Fe, coming from its yard in northwest Pueblo which connects with the Santa Fe's part of the Joint Line, and continues at right to head east to La Junta. In addition, at this time this was also the means used by the Colorado & Southern (by now part of Burlington Northern) to access the Santa Fe's yard as well as the Joint Line, to which it held trackage rights.

This junction is located just off Kelly Avenue, where Guma Road branches off and crosses the tracks.
