Denver & Rio Grande Western [Southern Pacific]
Pueblo, Colorado
June 7, 1996

Seen from Cheyenne Avenue (just off West 11th Street), this is the northwest corner of the Denver & Rio Grande Western's Pueblo yards where the Royal Gorge/Tennessee Pass line effectively ends. The track in the immediate foreground belongs to the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe which had trackage rights over the line from Pueblo as far as Canon City; it provides a connection to the Santa Fe's line to Denver, which becomes part of the Joint Line at Bragdon where paired trackage with the Rio Grande begins. This view looks east from the end of Cheyenne Avenue.
