The laws of perspective dictate that seen from track level James Peak, through which the Moffat Tunnel is bored, does not look all that impressive. A short drive up the remains of the former grade of the Giant's Ladder over Corona Pass helps reveal the real scale of the achievement. Seen from here, the tunnel portal becomes a tiny thing, dwarfed by the mountain above.
