Somewhat overshadowed by the Moffat Tunnel, Tennessee Pass and Royal Gorge, the Rio Grande's line along the Arkansas River west of the Royal Gorge has a rugged beauty of its own. Such features as the Howard Tunnel (near the upper center of the picture) are all too easy to miss.
