Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Joliet, Illinois (Joliet Union Station)
June 1, 1973

Not all of the Rock Island's double-deck commuter trains were stainless steel; the Rock Island owned a number of these brightly painted smooth-sided cars, seen here at Joliet, Illinois. The rails in the foreground were jointly operated by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe and the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio.
