Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Blue Island, Illinois (Vermont Street Station)
May 31, 1973

E6 no. 630 was one of the last operating E6s in the United States. Here it is seen at the Rock Island's Blue Island, Illinois Vermont Street Station. Following the road's bankruptcy and liquidation it worked for a time for the Midland Railway in Baldwin City, Kansas. It was eventually acquired for display in a museum planned for Manly, Iowa.
