Chicago's Western Avenue Station was located a short distance east of Western Avenue Crossing, where the Chicago & North Western's tracks from Madison Street Depot and those of the Milwaukee Road from Union Station crossed at grade. Although the station didn't serve the North Western, it did provide a great view of the road's "stableing area" (as the British would call it) for commuter coaches and power. A bit of the engine house can be seen at the far right. The tracks in the foreground belong to the Milwaukee Road.
