A Santa Fe freight is about to exit Broadway interlocking, named for the boulevard crossing over the tracks, northeast of Los Angeles Union Station. The train has just crossed the Los Angeles River on its way from Pasadena, California. The tracks to the left of the Santa Fe, as well as across the river, belong to the Southern Pacific. This shot is looking north from the Spring Street bridge.
