Western Pacific
Winemucca, Nevada
November 8, 1978

Between Alazon and Weso, Nevada (just east of Winemucca) the Southern Pacific and Western Pacific operated a shared trackage agreement dating back to the first World War, with eastbound traffic using the WP and westbound the SP. The Western Pacific depot for Winemucca was located a bit north of town (seen here from the Melarkey Street bridge looking east), with the SP depot closer to downtown. This westbound WP freight is back on home rails after running over the SP for most of the way across northern Nevada.
