The Western Maryland maintained this trim station at Ohiopyle (spelled as two words by the WM) along the Youghiogheny River. Allthough controlled by the Chesapeake & Ohio and Baltimore & Ohio since 1968, the WM had been permitted to run its own affairs independently, but in 1973 Chessie will begin placing C&O officers in key vice-presidential roles at WM; later that year it will file to abandon most of the WM main line.
