The Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh, Youngstown & Ashtabula Branch ran from Detour (Niles), Ohio through Warren and then nearly due north to the ore docks in Ashtabula. Here we see a Norfolk & Western freight on former Nickel Plate rails crossing the Pennsy's now single track line (formerly double track from Eagleville to the lakeside docks) at NP Tower just south of Ashtabula. This view is looking northeast from Ashtabula's West 52nd Street. The rails are still shiny, but the weeds are a bad sign; eventually this line will become a bicycle trail.
