Just west of the New York Central's Ashtabula, Ohio station the Central crossed the Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh, Youngstown & Ashtabula line to the Lake Erie ore docks at OD Tower. By this time the former Pennsy's line was down to one track, seen here from one of the Penn Central's few remaining New York to Chicago trains prior to the Amtrak takeover. At one time the New York Central's former Lake Shore and Michigan Southern branch from Youngstown also crossed here (just to the left of the Pennsy) but it appears that Penn Central found one track to be more than sufficient. This view looks south.
