Many of the Lionel Corporation's more exotic creations have caused some mirth among railfans (such as the famed giraffe car, later parodied to such good effect in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), but there really was a flatcar that carried giant bright orange cable reels (though probably not made of plastic), and here's the proof.
