New York Central [Penn Central]
Croton-Harmon, New York
January 24, 1973

Croton-Harmon on the New York Central's Hudson River line is best known as the northern end of electrified commuter service, but was also the location where electric locomotives were swapped on or off the Central's long-distance passenger trains. Here the lead diesels on southbound Amtrak Buffalo to New York train no. 74 have been cut off and await their electric equivalents; this view is looking south from the front of the train.
