Northern Pacific [Montana Rail Link]
Perma, Montana
September 6, 1999

East of Perma, Montana, the Northern Pacific's Evaro Hill line ran along the south bank of the Flathead river, as seen here from Montana Highway 200 looking west. West of Perma, the line soon crossed the river to enter Paradise along the north bank, where the Flathead emptied into the Clark Fork. It appears here that Montana Rail Link has recently ballasted the line, which is still used as an alternate freight route between De Smet and Paradise.
