Illinois Central
Blue Island, Illinois (Blue Island Station (IC))
July 26, 1971

Although Blue Island, Illinois is best known as a major stop on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific's Chicago commuter service, it was also the terminus of a branch of Illinois Central's electrified suburban service. Prior to the advent of the glitzy stainless steel Highliners these multiple-unit coaches were the mainstay of the IC's commuter service, here seen at the road's Blue Island station.
