Delaware, Lackawanna & Western [Conrail]
Binghamton, New York
April 2, 1977

The segment of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western line from Binghamton, New York to Hoboken, New Jersey fared rather better than the remainder of the Lackawanna's lines in upstate New York, most of which were ultimately abandoned. Here on the east side of Binghamton, New York we see the side by side mainlines of the former Erie (left) and Lackawanna (right) looking east. The Lackawanna's Syracuse branch cuts across the Erie main here on its way north.
