Central Vermont
Burlington, Vermont
June 4, 1976

Shut down in 1963, portions of the Rutland were resurrected variously as the Green Mountain Railway and the state-owned Vermont Railway. Although the original Rutland continued north past Burlington, Vermont to cross Lake Champlain on a pile trestle, today's Vermont Railway ends with a junction with a Central Vermont branch in Burlington. In this view looking north, the Central Vermont connector is at right with the remains of the Rutland at left.
