In 1971 the former Pennsylvania Railroad branch to Rochester was still in use by Penn Central for local switching. Its crossing with the former Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh (Baltimore & Ohio) was protected by one of the B&O's many tilt board signals (also common around the Youngstown, Ohio area).
