Western Pacific

Western Pacific
Nevada (Ruby Siding)
March 28, 1978

East of Wells, Nevada the Western Pacific leaves the paired trackage agreement with the Southern Pacific and strikes out on its own, piercing the Pequop Mountains in the distance with a short tunnel before continuing on to Salt Lake City. Ruby Siding is about 10 miles south (east by railroad direction) of Wells, and its distinctive light green signals can be seen in the distance from this grade crossing with U.S. Route 93, here facing south.
