Here is a closer look at Southern Pacific's station at Battle Mountain, Nevada. Although a flag stop for Southern Pacific passenger trains, it must have been a considerable inconvenience for eastbound passengers as all eastbound trains used the Western Pacific's North Battle Mountain station, several miles north of Battle Mountain, due to the shared trackage agreement in effect between the two roads. Amtrak, however, stops at neither.
