Once over the steep grades of Evaro Hill, the Northern Pacific's passenger line between De Smet and Paradise, Montana first followed the valley of the Jocko River on its way west to Dixon, where the Jocko emptied into the Clark Fork. Here at Ravalli the line crossed the Jocko River, seen from the Montana Highway 200 overpass.
