Just east of Western Avenue Station is Western Avenue Crossing, where the Milwaukee Road line from Union Station crosses the Chicago & North Western West Line out of Madison Street Station. Here looking east the Milwaukee Road is in the left foreground with the North Western at right. In the distance, a Baltimore & Ohio transfer run on the former Pennsylvania (which keeps to the south side of the crossing and doesn't cross the North Western) is heading away from the camera; the tower for the crossing is at left.
