This westbound train at the Long Island Rail Road's Hewlett, Long Island station has disgorged its load of commuters and shoppers and now continues to its ultimate destination of Far Rockaway. Construction of high-level platforms at all stations on the electrified lines was an integral part of the original master plan, in order to speed up loading and unloading.
