The Erie's "riverbed line" from the Cleveland waterfront and Hulett unloaders snaked alongside the Cuyahoga River in order to maintain the lowest possible grade to the Erie's Literary Street Yard. Although still in use at the time of this photo, just five more years would see the end of ore operations.
