Two Erle Lackawanna units lead a freight through the multiple diamonds of Chicago's Forest Hill Crossing. Alco RS-3 units such as no. 1047 here were heavily utilized by the Erie Lackawanna for switching and road freights. GE unit no. 2522 is also fairly representative of the EL's roster in the early seventies.
