Chicago & Western Indiana

Chicago & Western Indiana
Dolton, Illinois (Dolton Crossing)
June 6, 1973

The Chicago & Western Indiana line down to Dolton Crossing, south of Chicago, hosted trains of the Chicago & Eastern Illinois, often with Louisville & Nashville or Missouri Pacific power (which by this time had split the C&EI between them). Just south of Dolton Crossing the C&WI rails ended, becoming C&EI and running into the latter road's Dolton Yard.
