This shot, taken at the Rock Island's Burr Oak Yard in Blue Island, Illinois, features two goodies: one of the unusual Alco C-415 center-cab switchers (no. 421), and (if one looks carefully) a transfer caboose evidently made from an ancient wood-sided boxcar. One of the Illinois Central's equally ancient MU commuter trains is visible at right; Blue Island was the terminus of the road's Blue Island branch.
