Chicago Great Western

Chicago Great Western [Chicago & North Western]
Chicago, Illinois (Western Ave. Station)
July 27, 1971

The Chicago Great Western was only a memory by this time, having been absorbed (and eventually mostly abandoned) by the Chicago & North Western in1968. The road was renowned for running seemingly endless freights powered by massive lashups of multiple F-units, magnificently represented here by F-unit 4103-A. That paint job looks practically brand new.
