The Texas Chief left Chicago in late afternoon, as seen from the South Damen Avenue Bridge in Chicago, Illinois. Although Amtrak has been in charge since May 1, the Texas Chief still looks like the Texas Chief at this early date. At right is the Stevenson Expressway.
