The former U.S. Route 66 bridge at Crookton, Arizona (now part of Arizona State Route 66) provided an ideal vantage point for train-watching, particularly as the "old" bridge at that location had been bypassed by a newer one but remained in place as a pedestrian-safe overpass. It was also ideal for nighttime trainwatching, as the glow from westbound trains' headlights would light up the horizon for up to five minutes before the arrival of a train. It was also quiet enough to hear coyotes in the distance. This particular train is westbound.
