Union Pacific
Speer, Wyoming
September 30, 1997

Speer, Wyoming sees the junction of the Union Pacific's former Denver Pacific line from Denver with the Harriman Cutoff. The track in the foreground is the northbound Denver line, with the train in the background on the Harriman Cutoff. The track curving across the center of the slide is the leg of the wye used by trains on the Denver line accessing the Cutoff to or from the west. The black water tank in the distance marks the location of the tiny town of Speer itself.
