Union Pacific
Otto, Wyoming
September 30, 1997

Otto Road (Wyoming Highway 225) follows the Union Pacific's Sherman Hill line west out of Cheyenne as far as the location called Otto, where it turns to dirt. Although not particularly notable scenically, it does provide a front row seat for traffic climbing west out of Cheyenne. In addition, the Harriman Cutoff approaches Otto Road sufficiently here that trains on it such as this one can be seen (and heard) in the distance. In the foreground is the double track main out of Cheyenne.
