Union Pacific
Evanston, Wyoming
September 1, 1996

At the top of the Echo Canyon grade and just over the Utah border is the important Union Pacific town of Evanston, Wyoming. Until 1972 the location of a major Union Pacific shop complex, it offers numerous opportunities for train-watching, such as the 6th Street Bridge from which this photo was taken. This view looks west; the shops (in process of restoration) are just visible at the upper right.
